Ouzo is the much loved traditional spirit of Greece. Typically infused with anise which gives it that distinct flavour, other variations include additional flavours like fennel, corriander, cloves and cardomon. Usually Ouzo is served in a small glass with some water and ice cubes although drinking it neat from a shot glass is also popular. In restaurants in Greece Ouzo is often served as an aperitif. Served cold in a cold shot glass it can be a nice refreshing way to clear your palate before a meal.
