Hudson Baby Bourbon is a product of New York’s first whiskey distillery since prohibition - Tuthilltown Spirits Farm Distillery.
The distillery uses copper and stainless steel stills that were custom made in Germany for use at Tuthilltown Spirits. The Baby Bourbon is made by hand, one batch at a time. The bottles are waxed and individually numbered according to their batch.
Tuthilltown Spirits pride themselves on being innovative with their approach to making whiskey. After realising they did not have the manpower to agitate the whiskey barrels once a month so that the whiskey could interact with the wood barrels, they decided to try something different. They placed bass speakers around the barrels and turned the volume up. This would gently shake all the barrels to the desired amount, saving them hours of manual labour that can be invested in trying to develop new spirits.
At the 2018 International Spirits Challenge, Hudson Baby bourbon collected a bronze medal.
