Not Just for Gin and Tonics - 10 Fresh Cocktails You Can Make with Tanqueray Gin

Spirits

There's no need to wait for summer to enjoy a refreshing cocktail. With a versatile, clear spirit like gin you can inject a little of the tropics into your day any time of the year.

Using gin as your base, you can shake up a storm with a wide range of cocktails.  One of our favourite gins for mixing in cocktails is Tanqueray Gin.

Charles Tanqueray began distilling in London in 1830 but the Tanqueray production was moved to Scotland after the distillery was badly damaged during WWII.

There is some debate around how to correctly pronounce Tanqueray properly, but the most popular form seems to be TAN-KUH-RAY.

There are two main types of Tanqueray gins to choose from – London Dry Gin and Tanqueray Number 10.

Tasting Notes for Tanqueray Gins:

London Dry Gin

This was the original product launched by Tanqueray in 1830. It uses four main botanicals including juniper, coriander, angelica root and liquorice. London Dry Gin is double distilled, and the botanicals added during the second distillation.

Dubbed as the gin of choice for bartenders making the perfect G&T, this gin is perfect with tonic and a wedge of lime. London Dry Gin has been awarded numerous Double Golds and Silver medals from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition since 2005. You can buy the Tanqueray London Dry Gin in our online store.

Tanqueray No. Ten

Named after the still (No. 10) it is distilled in, this small batch gin launched in 2000. The smooth, fresh tasting gin uses whole fruits including white grapefruits and limes during the quadruple distillation process.

Smoother than London Dry Gin, No. 10 offers a citrus burst with every sip and is ideal for martinis, fruit cocktails and simply mixed with tonic water and a slice of grapefruit added. No. 10 is the only gin to be inducted into the San Francisco World Spirits Competition Hall of Fame.  You can buy the Tanqueray No. Ten in our online store.
