Fiano

Fiano is a white-wine grape variety that is commonly grown in Italy, particularly in the Campania region.

The grape is slowly growing in popularity around the world. It has recently started to be used in the McLaren Vale wine region in South Australia. In 2005, Coriole (McLaren Vale) released Australia’s first Fiano wine to the delight of many wine connoisseurs.

Australia’s climate is ideally suited to the Fiano grape as it thrives in warm, dry weather conditions.

The wines are rather pale in colour and usually have strong-flavoured aromas. You can expect notes of pineapple, honey and nuts with this white wine variety.

Fiano wine pairs nicely with vegetarian pasta dishes or seafood and as it hails from an area that is situated on the coast.
