The history of Angostura 1824 12 Year Old Rum 700ml can be traced way back to 1824 when Dr. Siegert would develop the first recipe for Amargo Aromatico. Developed in Angostura, Venezuela it would be 51 years until the family business would relocate to Trinidad.
The company would become known as Trinidad Distillers Limited and in 1971 would become Trinidad's largest non-oil exporter. The Angostura 1824 12 Year Old Rum pays respect to what Dr. Siegert developed many years ago. Perfectly matured in oak barrels, this is a full-flavoured smooth rum that offers a sophisticated taste. Angostura 1824 12 Year Old Rum is hand-selected by the Master Blender from one of the many casks in their distillery.
Once the rum has reached the desired 12 year-old maturity it is filtered and bottled. It is recommended to enjoy neat or over ice to best enjoy the charred smokey flavour developed in the oak barrels.
